How the "Tone It Up Tour" Took Over Soho Studios

On Sunday, October 1, Soho Studios was proud to host the "Tone It Up Tour" in our unique event space. This event was attended by dozens of women who were looking to bond with other like-minded women and have the fitness experience of a lifetime. During this event, women were invited to take part in numerous workouts with professional trainers in an inviting and encouraging atmosphere.

More About the Event

This event took place from noon until 5PM at Soho Studios Miami location and was focused on providing special events, workouts, and other activities to help women work towards their fitness goals together while gaining professional guidance from world-renowned trainers. Some of the classes offered during this event included:

  • Yoga
  • CorePower Yoga
  • Workouts with Jillian Michaels

In addition to workout sessions, attendees also enjoyed a number of pampering activities, such as a braid bar, beauty stations, jewelry activities, and more. A live DJ also kept the momentum and beat going all day long, keeping participants feeling motivated to not just power through their workouts, but to dance and have some fun in the process!

Food and beverages were also served throughout the event, including rosé for those who wished to partake.

 

VIP Opportunities

K&K, as well as Jillian Michaels, had VIP meet-and-greets available to select participants at the event. K&K's meet-and-greet was heavily attended and included a number of fun workouts and activities (all that the event had to offer) in addition to a face-to-face meet-up and exclusive activities as well. Each participant in this VIP package also enjoyed a unique VIP bag stuffed with goodies and other swag.

The VIP meet-up with Jillian Michaels was also a huge hit, with those in attendance enjoying the ability to meet with this fitness icon face-to-face, as well as access to an exclusive rosé garden and lounge. Participants in this VIP event also enjoyed some unique activities that were not available to general Tone It Up Tour participants.

Overall, this event was a huge success and was enjoyable for all in attendance. It promoted nutrition, self-love, and fitness for women of all backgrounds and fitness abilities. Anybody 14 years or older was permitted to attend, and the Tone It Up Tour continued onto many more cities promoting the same message across the United States.  Soho Studios was proud to have hosted this uplifting event!

When Music and Rum Collide


Bacardi has never been one to sit on its laurels when it comes to marketing, and this year is no exception. Now, it has partnered with EDM trio Major Lazer to put on a series of dance parties with an island theme. The events will feature Major Lazer's DJ, Jillionaire, who has been designated the "Minister of Rum." Since both Bacardi and Major Lazer have Caribbean roots, this theme is an excellent tie-in for them.

While the parties, which go under the title "Sound of Rum," will all have the same general theme, the specific presentations will vary between events. This ensures that everyone will experience something unique and the concept will remain fresh throughout the campaign.

Attendees at all of the shows can count on one thing being present, and that's new music from Major Lazer. The group has written at least one song, written just for the series of dances. It is named after the party series: "The Sound of Rum." Other new releases will also be played.

Major Lazer isn't the only partner releasing something new to commemorate the events. Bacardi is putting out a limited edition rum bottle with branding for both the event and the band. This is sure to be a hit with collectors.

Unlike many such corporate marketing events, the Sound of Rum parties aren't taking place as parts of larger festivals. Instead, they are stand-alone dance parties that occupy large swaths of their own space. For example, its debut party – named Spirit Up – took place on a private Miami beach. Bacardi created an entire temporary village surrounding the actual party, and within, people from various Caribbean islands served up food from their homelands as mixologists whipped up drinks. Meanwhile, Major Lazer set up giant speakers that ensured that everyone heard the music throughout the area.

This series of parties doesn't just cover the United States. It kicked off in Berlin, at the annual Bacardi Legacy Cocktail competition. From there, it is traveling around the world to bring rum, music, and a Caribbean atmosphere to several other countries.

Of course, a modern experiential marketing event isn't complete without the inclusion of social media. The two partners produced videos to share, started a program to donate studio time to aspiring Caribbean artists every time Major Lazer's "Front of the Line" track, and are counting on attendees sharing pictures and stories of their experience at the party. The follow-on effects of social sharing are typically the main source of marketing power behind such events. Through them, the experience – and the marketing message – travel far beyond the group of physical attendees.

Miami New Times Out to Brunch 2017

Soho Studios is hosting New Times’ Out to Brunch on Saturday, May 20, transforming mundane brunch specials into a big-time Miami feast. The squad is here, and we’re ready to host one of this year’s most memorable Miami events.

If you're a brunch lover, get your squad together for New Times' Out to Brunch. Saturday, May 20, Soho Studios will transform into the biggest brunch party Miami has ever seen. There’ll be food. There’ll be drinks. There’ll be a carefree environment packed with the area’s tastiest providers.

South Florida’s Finest

Taking place between noon and 3 p.m., Out to Brunch will feature some of South Florida’s finest dishes—each delivered from local hotspots and small shops. Miami Music Week 2017

Let's get this party started Miami!  Picking up from where it left off in 2016, Miami Music Week 2017 promises to be the place to be this March 21st through the 26th.  In 2016, there were more than 1,180 artists performing at over 260 events that were hosted at 78 plus venues and the event planners hope to top that during Miami Music Week 2017. For the past 7 years, Miami has transformed itself during the MMW into a dance music paradise.  This is a week-long marathon of non-stop parties and concerts featuring all the major artists in the electronic dance music scene.

Soho aka "The Miami Music Week Hotel" is the place to be during this year's MMW.  Located right in the heart of Delano, the prestigious urban resort, in South Beach.  This will be the epicenter of the parties throughout the week and the gathering place, both day and night, for music fans from all over the world.  These promise to be the best parties Miami has to offer the dance music enthusiast.

Once Again, SOBEWFF Delights its Guests

The South Beach Wine & Food Festival, more commonly known to its fans as the SOBEWFF, celebrated its 16th anniversary in Miami this past weekend. Even though the event just ended, we can still look to it to see this year's top trends and adapt them for our own events in the upcoming months. Here are some of the things that took the spotlight:

Tastings and Demonstrations

This year's tastings didn't stop with serving up food to curious attendees. The Grand Tastings were all accompanied by demonstrations by KitchenAid so people could see how to make the dishes at home. Of course, doing so would presumably involve buying some KitchenAid products. These were integral to the demonstrations, and many people who view such demos come to the feeling that they have to have the items shown within them. Needless to say, that's the plan.

Intimate Dinners Hosted by Well-Known People

While the big A-listers of Hollywood weren't hosting dinners, SOBEWFF did get some notable personalities to do the honors. Each dinner featured a different person or group who, for the most part, are known for their food or wine expertise. This type of dinner has been trending for a few years now, and many people are fans. Importantly, the term "intimate" doesn't refer to the sort of dinner that caters to lovebirds. Instead, it's a chance to talk to the hosts in a setting that is far more personable, or intimate, than the typical stage-to-audience speech setup.

Fitness Events

Companies have tried to make fitness into a trend for years, but it is now finally catching on. Two "Buddhas and Bellinis" events happened over the course of SOBEWFF and drew plenty of people to the yoga-themed mass classes. Other fitness-related events were geared toward families, and some included healthy cooking. It's clear that people are still interested in fitness and healthy food, and that the longstanding association between these things and deprivation dieting is continuing to fade.

Celebrity Chef Talks and Signings

A couple of decades ago, the very idea of a celebrity chef was all but unheard-of. Now, there are several making the rounds. People always love to get closer to celebrities, so it was a hit for SOBEWFF to bring in well-known chefs and home experts. The topics were highly varied, with one on the future of restaurant operations on all sizes and another that claimed that political discussion outright belongs at the dinner table.

Join Marshmello and Friends Live at Soho Studios!

The Miami area is always a great place to have some fun, and the upcoming Marshmello and Friends concert at Soho Studios is one terrific example of what the city has to offer. This energetic performer always gives the crowds what they want, while putting on one heck of a magical mystery show. You will definitely want to come over to Soho Studios on March 22, 2017 to catch this unique show. Really, you've never seen anything like it, and it's something you won't forget any time soon. If you are already familiar with Marshmello's performances, then you have an idea of what to expect, and a good reason to get excited. If you're new to this creative entertainer's engaging performances, you're in for a real treat.

For those who aren't familiar with Marshmello, get ready to be amazed. You see, the identity of the performer known as Marshmello is unknown. That's right. He performs for crowds of thousands, but no one knows who he really is. He keeps his identity carefully hidden under a smiling white marshmallow mask and signature long-sleeved white t-shirt. Legend says Marshmello is really DJ Chris Comstock, who also goes by the name Dotcom; this suggestion is largely based on their similar tattoos and music styles. Still, no one knows for sure except Marshmello himself and his closest friends and co-performers.

Marshmello first appeared on the popular music scene on March 3, 2015, when he posted a song called WaVeZ on SoundCloud. He began to release more songs on SoundCloud, and, as he did so, he gathered support from well-known DJs like Skrillex. These famous DJs helped the enigmatic Marshmello become even more famous by reposting his songs on their own SoundCloud pages.

Eventually, Marshmello became well known enough to release an album, which he did on January 8, 2016. The album, called Joytime, had ten tracks on it, and was produced by his own label, Joytime Collective. The album hit the top of the iTunes electronic albums chart the day he released it.

This intriguing performer does remixes of the songs of other artists, as well as his own original music. His style is heavy on electronic dance music with strong bass lines, with elements of groove-oriented synth. During the course of his brand new career, Marshmello has already performed at such prestigious locations as Pier 94 in New York, the HARD Day of the Dead festival in California, and Miami's own Music Week.

When Birds in the Backyard Turn into Art

What could be better than a purist approach to event marketing art?  This year’s YoungArts Foundation Gala experienced a slew of action-paced, eloquent and fascinating displays.  The event’s figurehead, highlighted by the Max Mara logo, was incredibly flexible. That said, the Italian luxury brand was only the show’s opening act. Dubbed the 2017 YoungArts Backyard Ball, the Gala far exceeded other, run-of-the-mill charity promotions.

The Backyard Ball

On January 14, 2017, the National YoungArts Foundation posted up in Miami, delivering its annual extravaganza to support the nation’s future artists. While recognizing the year’s talent, the Gala assisted this year’s 691-bodied audience of YoungArts Winners. The event supplied explorative music, awesome additions and amazing contributions to art, including jazz pianist Jason Moran, choreographer Jessica Lang and Max Mara’s north American retailer, Maria Giulia Maramotti.

The Birds

Among the artistic display showcases was an interesting assortment of origami birds. The event’s origami theme, incredibly varied, included many nods to the ancient arts of paper folding—such as abstract bird shapes. The stage’s backdrop was lit, the birds were folded and a dulcet purple framed the entire scene.

The Gala’s graphic cover design reflected this display, revealing different handcrafted art designs, origami’s geometric nature and a variety of event inclusions. Meanwhile, the event’s ceiling origami installation captured nature with hundreds of suspended paper butterflies. All around, floating origami animals impacted the space.

Success and the Prevalence of Art

The evening raised over $1.5 million to support YoungArts establishments, initiatives and programs in Miami, Los Angeles, New York and Washington D.C. The event’s aspiring artists—along with those abroad—were given extraordinary, life-changing opportunities to connect with their field’s leading impactors. The presence of public-presented work, a nod to tradition and the collaboration of different disciplines, together, made the Backyard Ball stand apart.

The event’s guests, of course, applauded the winners of the National YoungArts Week—which occurred between January 8 and 15. In the world of art, a little experiential marketing goes a long way. Origami birds, the presentation’s frame—in a sense—highlighted the gala's freedom, creativity and curiosity. Sometimes, event displays needn’t be expensive. Sometimes, trending, fun and unique event inclusions can be as pure as the message they’re relaying. In the world of charity promotion, event marketers have a lot of options. The National YoungArts Week presented a unique opportunity, too, which was categorized by a celebration of all things art. It's Back! Great Food And Fun To Combat Childhood Hunger

South Florida's Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry is back and better than ever for 2017. Held at our beautiful event space Soho Studios for the second year in a row, this premier culinary event brings some of the nation's top chefs, mixologists and wineries together for an evening of food, drinks and entertainment for a cause: ending childhood hunger in America. Hosted this year by CBS4 morning news anchor Marybel Rodriguez and Froggy from Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, the cultivated event of gourmet food and wine features chefs and tasting dishes from more than 50 of South Florida's top restaurants.

For almost 30 years, Taste of the Nation has been highlighting some of the greatest culinary stars who donate their time and skills in the kitchen for a good cause. Organized by Share Our Strength, a national non-profit committed to fighting childhood hunger, Taste of the Nation is designed to raise funds for the organization's valuable community work and food programs, donating 100 percent of all proceeds from the event to support their mission.

Guests are invited to indulge in a feast of innovative menus designed by this year's participating restaurants with accompanying wines, spirits and beers. A silent auction will also take place with irresistible culinary themed items and experiences. Citi offers a bespoke lounge for attendees to sample a curated bar menu while taking in the festivities.
